Cing, the developer known for the Wii RPG Little King's Story and the DS mystery game Hotel Dusk: Room 215 may be closing its doors for good, as the company has filed for bankruptcy.
Despite a string of critically acclaimed titles like Hotel Dusk: Room 215 and Little King's Story, Japanese developer Cing hasn't had financial favor to match. Cing recently filed for bankruptcy, though it has yet to state whether this action will force the company to close. The reported amount of debt is equal to $2.8 million.
In the same way that US bankruptcy laws can allow for a company to re-establish itself, Japan' Civil Rehabilitation Law could allow for Cing to get back on its feet. The developer has another DS game releasing this month, as Tecmo will be bringing Again, Cing's latest crime mystery game, is due out in two weeks. GamePro will keep you updated on that game and Cing's fate as we hear more.
