I know I'm a little late for a review but o well.Modern Warfare 2 ius almost like the 1st except times the gameplay by 10 and get ready for a hell of a ride.The campaign seemed a bit shorter than the 1st but overall it was still great.Mutiplayer is what makes the game,so if you haven't played online you're are missing out on the best FPS on Xbox live.

I am not one of those people who think that this is the best game ever. It is good. But not perfect. The gameplay is very repetitive all though addictive.The multi player is fantastic but agian gets repetitive.

Let me say from the start when this game was about to come out i was thrilled to see what was next that's going to top call of duty 4 well now we have it and played for hours on end i like it and the story line let's alot of what's next on the table for the next modern warfare, now on the onling game play it was good at the start then came the hacking,glitching,leaderboards,cheathing, 10th prestege glitch lobbys,nuke bosting,tack boosting, the list goes on and on if it wasn't for all that the online would be great to play for all to love for hours on end,i think this game was made for the noobs because of all the care packages for just sitting in one spot killing as many people that hasn't notice you there yet and for the more exp players you can get your spawn rip up and no where to go and that will kill this game for you so untill this game is fix up i think online play will be a mess for people just getting into it

Very seldom in the gaming world does anything make this much of a stir. After the huge success of CoD 4, Infinity Ward had high expectations for this game and from day one shattered any doubts.

Even though the multiplayer uses the same engine as CoD 4, it's had a complete overhaul. With the new guns, perks, and customizable killstreaks this is one game that's definitely a one of a kind experience. This game is just plain fun.

That said, their are several downfalls to this game. The biggest dissapointment seems the be the campaign mode. The story doesn't flow well and things don't end the way they should. Without ruining the story for those of you who haven't played it, I'll just say many of the loose ends aren't tied up in a smooth manner or at all for that matter. The gameplay is unique with different enemies and weapons, but in the end gets repetetive.

The co-op mode, Special Ops, fixes some but not all of the campaign's issues. There's no ridiculous story lines, just plain ol' action. The only problem there is that plain ol' action gets boring. No one wants to see a movie of just shooting and fighting so why would anyone want that in a game? This mode is fun for beginners but veterans won't find much enjoyment here.

Even with all its flaws and shortcomings, this game truly is a must buy. With it's amazing multiplayer and on-the-side fun of Special ops and campaign, this is one game I know I'll be playing late into the night for many days to come.

This game was easily one of the best games of this year! The multiplayer has been great! So many weapon varities, perks, and maps! This game the best-get-game of the year!

This game is absolutely the best shooter ever. I love the story and the characters (Ghost is so cool!), and the multiplayer is just fantastic. Anyone who likes shooters, buy it. Those that don't, buy it anyways. This game will make you like them.

very fast paced multi player get lots of practice before you just go and commit suicide jumping out thier these gamers dont leave much room for error. sound effects and visuals truly phenomenal. It's a most own game I cant wait to see whats next!

CoD: MW2 is a great game, don't get me wrong. However, it is just simply overrated. Here are my following reviews;

Special Ops: 7/10
Good concepts, really push you to the limit on some levels (on Veteran).
However, this game mode is rather pointless, except for earning the designated achievements.

Campaign: 6.5/10
After beating the campaign on Hardened (legitimately, for you gay gamerscore hackers), I know the campaigns storyline fairly well. The ending is absolutely terrible, I mean really?...Throw a knife at a guy, whoopy! He's dead, what now, get healed up, move on? EVERYONE's DEAD, how do you continue the storyline. Now infinityward has to make a whole new storyline..
Other than that, it's just a solid ok.

Multiplayer: 8.5/10
-1.0 FOR all the hackers, whether it be leaderboard hacks, prestige mods, modded controllers, or glitches, it all pisses me off. Recently, there was the airdrop glitch, and someone on my team kept using it in HC HQ, and it really mad me mad. I dont mind him using it, its just that, HE DIDN'T SHARE. infinityward needs to manage their online multiplayer ALOT better.

Though Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 lives up to nearly all expectations in its genre, the game falls short in one area: providing the gamer with differentiating themes throughout the series. If, when playing this fantastic game, you look at Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 as a definitive series on their own path, you can easily realize that it simply does not change much from Call of Duty 4. Please don't believe me to say that I am not utterly in love with the game, seeing as I am far from that statement (nearly 10 days of MP playtime). However, this game simply needs to give the gamer more to look at. Themes have been repeated, such as nuclear missile crisis, in both games, and the multiplayer lacks variety. There is but one open map in the playlist, which is simply not enough. This game lacks one thing, and one thing only (in my eyes). Who knows what DLC will be in store for those willing to shell out ten dollars, but for now, do better next time.

To keep things short and simple Modern Warfare 2 is a pretty awesome sequel. The single player mode is pretty fun, it's jam packed with action so no moment is boring. There are a lot of surprises you'll find in this game, but as these surprises happen you will end up relating them back to CoD4 situations which makes me think maybe instead of coming up with new ideas for the story in MW2 they just revamped old ones. Special Ops is a nice new Co-Op mode that is loads of fun, i still wish that there was an ACTUAL Co-Op mode for the campaign, it would be very easy to put in since it just so happens that 99% of the single player campaign you're traveling with a friend. Multiplayer is also fun, there are a lot of different modes for everyone to play. It still runs off of the more you play the "better" guns you get and that still bugs me since it sort of forces you to start off at a disadvantage. Overall though it is a very good game and is a game everyone should try out.
